LS120
Home ] Up ]

The Super Disk or LS120 drive accepts special 120MB cartridges or normal 3.5" floppy disks.  The LS120 is not a standard, but is has the potential to overtake the ZIP because the LS120 drives also accept the venerable 3.5" floppy disk.  I am using the Digital Research Technologies DRLS120 internal IDE drive.

Many motherboards are including support for Super Disk.  This allows your motherboard to directly access the LS120 as a floppy in DOS mode.  Which means you can use it for the 3.5" Drive A: and boot from it.  This also allows WIN95 OSR2 or WIN98 to directly support the LS120 without any special drivers.  However, if you aren't using these operating systems, drivers are available.  Just check your manufacturers home page for the latest ones.
